Emoji Planet™ has been released by Netent

Netent has released their much anticipated Emoji Planet™ on August 24, 2017. This fun filled slot offers players up to 5 different in play bonus features, which can be retriggered time and time again.

We gave the Emoji Planet™ slot a not so glowing review when we played it first at Mr Green (who had the exclusive right to pre-release this slot, months before the official release).

We did not like it back then, and that is an understatement. We hated it. We hated the childish theme, and we hated the slow pace of the slot. And we loathed the dull gameplay.

We stand corrected. We quite like it.

However, we must stand corrected. As everyone always deserves a second chance (except, maybe, Donald Trump), so should this slot.

So we played Emoji Planet™ some more. And discovered the “speed button”. And we won some cascading bonus features and a big multiplier for a big payout. And then we played it some more. And more. And we discovered that, despite the obnoxious theme and the, still somewhat, slow gameplay, we actually have grown quite fond of it.

There are some unique features in this slot which only come to light once you have invested several sessions of play. You can get some excellent results if you manage to win several bonus features in one spin.

And this slot can be quite entertaining, after all. It just takes some (actually, a lot) of getting used to.

How does Emoji Planet™ work?

The game is played on a 5 x 5 grid, and there are no pay lines. Winning combinations are formed by clusters of symbols. 5 or more clustered symbols will pay out. Winning combinations will explode to make way for new symbols.

The symbols are (blegh) made up of various emojis, including the smiley, the poop emoji, rockets and hearts.

By collecting some of the emojis, different meters are filled up – once a meter is full a feature is activated. These features include exploding bombs, a 3 x 3 grid of overlay symbols, multipliers and extra wilds. It is possible to get multiple extra features in one turn, and that is where the potential lies in this slot.
