Gladiator Jackpot is a 5-reel, 25-payline slot that comes to us from Playtech and is identical to the first Gladiator slot that the company produced, except for the progressive jackpot aspect to it.

As the name implies, these slots are based on the hit movie Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe.

Gladiator Jackpot comes with free spins, where you can win as many as 24 free spins with a 3X multiplier. It also has a Jackpot Bonus that offers enough winnings to totally change your life, if only you can find the golden helmets.

You can play this game with as little as 25p per spin or wager up to £1,250 per spin. In addition to the progressive jackpot, you have a chance of winning a 5,000-coin jackpot.

All you need to do is get 5 symbols of the Emperor (Joaquin Phoenix) to pop up. Various clips of the movie appear, which really brings the game to life and certainly entertains you while you play.

Gladiator slot Bonuses

The two main bonuses are the Coliseum Bonus feature, which is activated when you get 3 Coliseum scatters popping up. When this happens you should click on “Start” to begin the game. You will notice a 4-row grid with 5 columns and you must pick 1 stone, beginning at the bottom row and continuing on as follows:

  • Row 1 determines the number of free spins you get
  • Row 2 shows you its multiplier
  • Row 3 reveals the symbol for the Extra Scatter to use while in the free spins mode
  • Row 4 reveals the symbol for the Extra Wild to use while in the free spins

The symbols are characters from the Gladiator movie.

Once the Coliseum Bonus feature starts up, watch for the Emperor popping up on the centre reel, because if it does, you win another 3 free spins. You can win as many as 24 free spins, including a 3X multiplier. If you get an extra scatter plus an extra wild, you might be in store for a nice sum in winnings.

The second main bonus in this game would be the Gladiator Jackpot Bonus, which gets activated when 3 Gladiator Helmet Wilds pop up on reels 2, 3, and 4. This feature can be set off during both the main game as well as the Coliseum Bonus, which is great.

Gold, silver or bronze helmets disclose your cash prizes. This feature is a “Pick Me” type, so you have 9 different picks.

You won’t win the Gladiator Jackpot if the Jackpot feature is triggered during the free spins, as it can only be won during the main game.

But, if you uncover 9 Gold Helmets, you get to win everything in the progressive jackpot!

On 14 October 2013, the largest Gladiator Jackpot was won and it was a whopping £2,015,367. The last time someone won it was 28 November 2013 and they won £536,935, which isn’t too bad.
